Background of the Program
The Department of History and Heritage Management is among the very few founding Departments of the University in 2007/1999EC/ with 86 undergraduate students and six staff members. For the first three years the Department was known by the name 'History and Civics' and later the curriculum was revised and made to retain its current nomenclature-History and Heritage Management.
To-day, the Department has eight on-duty staffs: six of them are MA Degree holder and two Graduate Assistants. In addition, we have three staffs at a study leave; one attending her second degree whereas the rest two for third degree. In this regard, the department is lucky to have well-qualified professionals from various disciplines such as tourism, museum studies, cultural studies, history and heritage management, and social anthropology.
The fifth annual research conference of Dire Dawa University will be held on 11 and 12 April 2019 (Miyazia 03 & 04, 2011 E.C)...
