The Office of the Research, Publication, Ethics, and Extension Directorate is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and advancing the research ecosystem of Dire Dawa University.

The Directorate's work is organized around four interconnected areas that support the University's research and knowledge ecosystem.
Defines strategic institutional research priorities, coordinates proposals and grants, and monitors research projects from inception through final reporting.
Supports institutional journals, proceedings, technical reports, policy briefs, and academic writing while promoting publication quality.
Coordinates ethical review and promotes responsible research practices, including protection of research participants and compliance with academic standards.
Connects research outputs with communities, industry, policymakers, and other stakeholders through dissemination and extension activities.
