Since there are limited numbers of psychiatry professionals
in Ethiopia, it is needed to train BSc psychiatry professionals so the training is expected to
address some of this huge demand of mental health professionals in the country.
Contrary to the high demand for mental health professionals, particularly
psychiatric nurses, the proportion of highly qualified psychiatry professionals
is very low compared to the size of the population served thus; this situation
requires training of appropriate types
and adequate number of psychiatry professionals.
