Mathematics is a fundamental field of study that plays a pivotal role in the development of science, technology, business, and computer science. It profoundly influences the socio-economic development of a society and civilization. Thus, it is imperative that students be equipped with strong Mathematical knowledge and skills which enable them to be productive in areas where rigorous thought and precision of results are emphasized

Mathematics department is one of the six departments under College of Natural and Computational Sciences.  It was established in 2006. The department had 5 mathematics instructors from its inception and now it has more than 48 instructors with diversified specializations.  Since then the department teach mathematics for undergraduate and graduate students by regular, extension and summer program. It has been graduating more than 1200 undergraduate students.
