Accounting and Finance profession is attributed to the observed continuously flourishing of different organizations in Ethiopia, along with the rapid pace of development of Ethiopian economy.

In this regard, public universities in Ethiopia are striving to design and implement a new modular based approach to promote innovative curricula, assure quality education and produce competent graduates in this profession that can make a difference in the overall progress of the country.

As a result of this, the Accounting and Finance program was opened in our university to provide new skills and knowledge in the profession, to prepare students for careers in Accounting and Finance in all economic sectors such as business, not-for-profit, and government organizations.

The Department of Accounting and Finance has been contributing towards meeting the country’s demand for trained human resource in the areas of accounting, auditing and finance practice since its establishment in 2009 G.C.  The Department runs both regular and extension undergraduate programs. The Department has currently around 230 students in the regular and 550 in the extension program in the undergraduate Accounting and Finance program.
