Official Launch of European Union Erasmus+ Project “EtD-Fam- Ethiopian and Djibouti Females at Makerspace”

The Dire Dawa University Erasmus+ project “EtD-Fam- Ethiopian and Djibouti Females at Makerspace” team members travelled to Italy to participate in the official launch of the project. The launch, which happened at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy, brought together researchers from Ethiopia, Djibouti, Germany, Italy and Austria. The project will realize the establishment of makerspace at the Dire Dawa University, which will give female students, staff and others the opportunity to acquire practical skills, competencies. The makerspace will be managed by female researchers and will lead to launch of creative product or business. The makerspace, which will be within the university’s Business and Technology Incubation Center, will create an opportunity to establish close cooperation between the university and startups in the city.
