Continuing
and Distance Education Program Office
The
Continuing and Distance Education Program Office of Dire Dawa University was
established in 2009 to broaden access to higher education through learning
opportunities. Its mission is to produce well‑qualified, skilled,
knowledgeable, and competent graduates by delivering quality education tailored
to diverse learners. Programs are offered in evening, weekend, and summer
modalities, enabling working adults to pursue academic advancement without
interrupting their professional or personal commitments.
Since
its foundation, the office has successfully graduated more than 20,000
undergraduate students across a wide range of fields. This achievement reflects
its strong contribution to workforce development and regional capacity
building. Beyond academic delivery, the office plays a vital role in expanding
educational opportunities by providing full scholarships to university
administrative staff, family members of academic staff, and members of the
local community.
