The Acting Deputy Chief of Mission of the USA embassy in Ethiopia, Naomi Fellows, visited Dire Dawa University. In her stay at the university she met with the top leadership of the university and was briefed on status of various engagements of the Dire Dawa University with the embassy, universities in the USA and other entities. The embassy is supporting the university in various ways such as the Ambassador’s Distinguished Scholars program where US professors are here as an international staff for a year and engaged on academic and research works. Additionally the embassy has capacity-building programs. The president of the university, Dr. Ubah Adem, expressed her appreciation for the continued support from the embassy and the impact it is making on the ground. The Deputy Chief of Mission expressed that the embassy will remain engaged with the university and will continue the support it is making due to the impact it already has and will continue to have on the ground.
