Delegates of Twenty two team members from Dire Dawa University’s International Partners Ali Birra Foundation, Minnesota University and IOHOPA have arrived to Dire Dawa city yesterday. The team members have travelled from the US and included Professors, Neurosurgeon, Psychiatry provider, Medical provider, therapist, Pharmacists, Grant writing specialists and others.  The top leadership of Dire Dawa University and Dire Dawa city Mayor office head welcomed the team members at the Dire Dawa International airport. 

The leadership congratulated the joint US-Dire Dawa University operational team for the months of planning details of the activity that includes variety of engagement. During their stay in Dire Dawa University,  the team will provide free eye-glass distribution to the needy community in the Dire Dawa city, provide sanitary pads for school children at Ali-Birra Memorial School, conduct mental health workshop involving College of Medicine and Health Sciences various stakeholders at Dire Dawa University, provide various trainings to Dire Dawa University College of Medicine and Health Sciences staff on various areas such as  Child and Adolescent Psychiatry , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Pharmacology, Grant-writing, and others. These events calendar is from August 15 – August 22/ 2024.
