Ambassadorial Lecture Conducted in Dire Dawa University
Ambassadors of five countries Mexico, Indonesia, Korea Republic, Turkiye and Australia (MIKTA) delivered lecture to the academic community of the university. The president of the university, Dr. Ubah Adem, welcomed the ambassadors and stated the university’s commitment to engage its international partners and the success thus far. Dr. Ubah appreciated the cross-regional nature of the group and their shared commitment to multilateralism, democratic values and sustainable development. H.E Ambassador Alejandro Estivill Castro, H.E Ambassador Al Busyra Basnur, H.E Ambassador Jung Kang, H.E Ambassador Berk Baran and H.E Ambassador Julia Niblett briefed the audience about the MIKTA group values, objectives and the activities it is currently engaged on. The ambassadors also presented current global challenges to multilateralism and how the group is positioned to address them. Their presentation was followed up with reflections on questions raised by the participants.
Additionally the ambassadors Dire Dawa University’s global engagement and discussed with the top leadership of the university on ways of linking the University with their respective countries higher education institutions.
