From May 26–28, 2025, Dire Dawa University, in collaboration with Italy’s University of Pavia, conducted a dynamic three-day training on Grant Writing and EU Project Management. Organized by the Strategic Partnership and Research Internationalization Directorate in collaboration with the College of Business and Economics, the program aimed to build staff capacity in crafting competitive proposals for European Union (EU) funding and effectively managing awarded projects.

The training was delivered by the University of Pavia: Professor Maria Sassi, an expert in Agricultural Economics, and the local Director of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Global Development Policies, Vice-President of CICOPS, and Country Director of EADI. Staff from all colleges and institutes of the university participated, reflecting the university's strong commitment to research excellence and international collaboration.
