World bank funded Joint research project between Dire Dawa University and University of Djibouti has been launched

In a follow up to the partnership MoU signed between the two universities on 2021, a joint research has been launched. The research will  proceed under the African Center of Excellence on Logistics and Transportation(CEALT), one of the Nine world bank funded centers in africa, at University of Djibouti. The CEALT made public research grant call to the four partner universities (Dire Dawa University, Addis Ababa University, Jigjiga University and Hargesa University) back in june 2021 and 5 proposals were submitted from the research teams in DDU.

After critical screening process 2 proposals entitled "Assessment of Ethio-Djibouti Supply chain Performance : A case on Agricultural Products" and "Experimental investigation on the potential use of natural fiber to reduce plastic cracks and enhance mechanical properties of cementitious composite"   came out as winners and granted 30,000 and 10,000 dollars respectively. Grant award ceremony along with agreement was signed on May 07/2022 at Dire Dawa University on the presence of delegates from university of Djibouti and the CEALT. It's to be recalled that the CEALT is also running Masters degree scholarship program for our academic staff.
