Dire
Dawa University is collaborated with Semera University, Jigjiga University,
Kotebe University of Education and Bahir Dar University to organize the
conference.
The
conference is aimed to discuss prospects and challenges associated with
education in pastoral areas of Ethiopia. It is also reported that the ministry
of education will take note of innovative ideas and wide array of prospective
solution towards recurrent predicaments of education in pastoral areas.
Dr.
Ubah Adem, DDU president, has made key note that emphasized on the role of
utilizing technologies to deliver education at the doorsteps of pastoral
communities. She further insisted universities to make their doors open and
collaborate on issues associated with pastoralist education.
Notable
attendees include Dr. Serawit Handiso, Head Research and Extension, MoE, Dr.
Ubah Adem, President of Dire Dawa University, Dr. Birhanemesekel Tena,
President of Kotebe University, Dr. Diriba Eticha, President of Gambella
University and some other prominent researchers, opinion makers and government
officials are in attendance.
