Dire Dawa University and DRMC Sign MoU to Strengthen Disaster Risk Management
Dire Dawa University (DDU) and the Disaster and Risk Management Commission of Dire Dawa City Administration have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in disaster risk reduction, climate resilience, and community-based preparedness initiatives.
Dr. Ubah Adem, President of Dire Dawa University, remarked that the rapid growth of Dire Dawa calls for a robust and modern disaster management system, and that the new agreement will play an important role in achieving that goal.
Dr. Ubah also reiterated the university’s dedication to supporting the DRMC through research, technology transfer, and capacity-building efforts.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sulayman Ali, Commissioner of the DRMC, conveyed his sincere appreciation to Dire Dawa University, praising it as a leading center of research and technological innovation.
