Dire Dawa University and UN ECA Explore Strategic Collaboration
United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) held a partnership initiation meeting with Dire Dawa University to discuss areas of mutual collaboration.
The ECA delegation, led by Dr. Zuzana Schiwidrowski, Director of the Socio-Economic Development Division, met with the university’s senior and mid-level leadership to explore strategic partnership opportunities. Discussions focused on youth-centered engagement and capacity-building initiatives aligned with both institutions’ strategic priorities.
As part of the visit, the delegation donated a collection of books to DDU’s College of Business and Economics and introduced internship opportunities for students.
DDU leadership expressed appreciation for the generous donation and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with ECA.
The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing on clear next steps and a follow-up agenda to advance the partnership.
