Dire Dawa University and M-PESA Safaricom Sign MoU to Strengthen University–Industry Collaboration

Dire Dawa University and M-PESA Safaricom have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering strong university–industry collaboration in the areas of digital financial services, research, technology transfer, student development, and capacity building.

The agreement establishes a strategic partnership designed to bridge academia and industry by creating practical learning opportunities, enhancing innovation, and promoting digital financial inclusion within the university ecosystem and beyond.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Ubah Adem said, “The agreement we signed today reflects our University’s vision to empower the next generation of professionals and contribute meaningfully to Ethiopia’s digital and economic transformation. We look forward to achieving tangible outcomes that will benefit our students, staff, and the wider community.”
